Course Overview (Recommended Course for RT and First Aider)

CERT First Aider Course is customised and designed for Emergency Responders who required the knowledge and skill sets to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) as well as administer the basic first aid required during incident before the arrival of medical assistance. Upon completion, you should be able to:

  • Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED
  • Manage sprains, dislocations, cuts, fractures and burns
  • Use safe manual casualty handling and carrying techniques

 Who Should Attend

This course aims to provide the Emergency Response Team members (RT) with the skills and knowledge required to apply the basic first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s) until the arrival of medical assistance. This course is contextualised and target for operators or technicians taking on the role of ERT in the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT). It is also suitable for Individuals keen on learning basic lifesaving skills for personal development; First Aiders with prior CPR knowledge keen on upgrading their lifesaving skills and knowledge.

 Course Assessment

  • Theory Assessment: 80% score requirement (Multiple Choice Questions, 2 attempts allowed)
  • Practical Assessment: 100% score requirement (3 attempts allowed)

 Certification

A CPR + AED certificate accredited by SRFAC (Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council) (in partnership with 3TS & Global Training Services) will be given at the end of the training once the trainees pass the skills set and assessments. The certificate is valid for 2 years.

This Competency Unit: Respond to Fire and Hazmat Emergency is designed to enable a person to function as a member of an emergency response team in order to meet and respond to fire and Hazmat emergencies. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Prepare for Fire and Hazmat emergencies
  • Participate to contain fire emergencies
  • Participate to contain Hazmat emergencies
  • Assist in search and rescue operations

Target Audience

This course aims to provide people already working or new entrants into the process industry with the skills and knowledge required to allow a person to function as a member of a Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) in order to meet and respond to fire emergencies in process plant. This course is contextualised and target for operators or technicians taking on the role of ERT in the high risk industries from Chemicals, Refineries, Specialities Chemicals and Oil & Gas.

 Course Overview [Recommended Emergency Response Course by SCDF for Tier 2 (P&FM licence < 5 MT) & Tier 1 HRI Premises for RT and SIC]

On completion of this unit, the learner will have the knowledge and be equipped with the application skills to function as a member of an emergency response team in order to implement the emergency response skills during an emergency incident in buildings. This includes:

  • Interpret emergency response legislations and guidelines
  • Identify fire hazard scenarios and usage of fire protection system in buildings
  • Demonstrate use of breathing apparatus according to BA wearer guidelines and entrapment procedures
  • Assess the emergency situation and conduct firefighting to contain fire in high rise buildings
  • Participate in rescue and evacuation exercise
  • Handover incident and provide operational assistance to the appropriate body

 Target Audience

This course aims to provide Company Emergency Response Teams (CERT) from commercial, industrial buildings who are the first responders for incidents in their respective premises. Course Overview

CERT recertification program provides a gradual and sustainable framework to level up the standards and competencies of CERTs. This CERT recertification program is mandatory for Tier 1 P&FM premises only. Their CERTs will undertake an annual re-certification 1 day program

Course Structure

CERT Audit

Part I – DOCUMENTATIONS (50% of overall score achieved will be used for Audit Grading)

  • Emergency Response Plan (30 points)
  • Training Records and Certifications (35 points)
  • Equipment Readiness and Maintenance Records (35 points)

Part II – PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT (50% of overall score achieved will be used for Audit Grading)
