Course Overview (Recommended Course for RT and First Aider)

CERT First Aider Course is customised and designed for Emergency Responders who required the knowledge and skill sets to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) as well as administer the basic first aid required during incident before the arrival of medical assistance. Upon completion, you should be able to:

  • Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED
  • Manage sprains, dislocations, cuts, fractures and burns
  • Use safe manual casualty handling and carrying techniques

 Who Should Attend

This course aims to provide the Emergency Response Team members (RT) with the skills and knowledge required to apply the basic first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s) until the arrival of medical assistance. This course is contextualised and target for operators or technicians taking on the role of ERT in the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT). It is also suitable for Individuals keen on learning basic lifesaving skills for personal development; First Aiders with prior CPR knowledge keen on upgrading their lifesaving skills and knowledge.

 Course Assessment

  • Theory Assessment: 80% score requirement (Multiple Choice Questions, 2 attempts allowed)
  • Practical Assessment: 100% score requirement (3 attempts allowed)

 Certification

A CPR + AED certificate accredited by SRFAC (Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council) (in partnership with Global Training Services & HumanSkills) will be given at the end of the training once the trainees pass the skills set and assessments. The certificate is valid for 2 years.

Course Overview (Recommended Emergency Response Course by SCDF for Premises with P&FM > 5 MT)

This Competency Unit: Respond to Fire and Hazmat Emergency is designed to enable a person to function as a member of an emergency response team in order to meet and respond to fire and Hazmat emergencies. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Prepare for Fire and Hazmat emergencies
  • Participate to contain fire emergencies
  • Participate to contain Hazmat emergencies
  • Assist in search and rescue operations

Target Audience

This course aims to provide people already working or new entrants into the process industry with the skills and knowledge required to allow a person to function as a member of a Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) in order to meet and respond to fire emergencies in process plant. This course is contextualised and target for operators or technicians taking on the role of ERT in the high risk industries from Chemicals, Refineries, Specialities Chemicals and Oil & Gas.

On completion of this unit, the learner will have the knowledge and be equipped with the application skills to function as a member of an emergency response team in order to implement the emergency response skills during an emergency incident in buildings. This includes:

  • Interpret emergency response legislations and guidelines
  • Identify fire hazard scenarios and usage of fire protection system in buildings
  • Demonstrate use of breathing apparatus according to BA wearer guidelines and entrapment procedures
  • Assess the emergency situation and conduct firefighting to contain fire in high rise buildings
  • Participate in rescue and evacuation exercise
  • Handover incident and provide operational assistance to the appropriate body

 Target Audience

On completion of this unit, the learner will have the knowledge and be equipped with the application skills and knowledge required to effectively respond to fire incidents. This includes:

  • Introduce or reinforce the relevant legislations surrounding the formations and activation of CERT.
  • Familiarize participants with the various possible fire hazards and the usage of fire protection systems in buildings.
  • Instruct participants on correct methods to conduct initial fire-fighting using various extinguishing mediums.

CERT Refresher for Tier 1 Premises (Industrial Fire Fighting & Hazmat Course)

Course Overview (Course Reference Number: 1002-ERT-FFP1)

Fire fighting in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical and chemical process industries may be particularly complex, where, potentially every fire is a Hazmat incident. Large quantities of toxic fumes are frequently involved and may lead Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) members to undertake rash actions which constitute hazards to personnel. Therefore, it is essential for the ERT members to continue their proficiency in fire-fighting response.

This intensive training will provide refresher training for the ERT members to enhance their knowledge and skills to handle the hazards of process plants correctly, in the event of an outbreak of fire and Hazmat incident which they are called on to fight. All delegates will have hands-on fire-fighting and Hazmat training in the industrial size firefighting training facility.

Target Audience (Recommended for Premises with P&FM > 5 MT) (Tier 1 CERT Premises)

This course aims to provide refresher training for Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) in order to meet and respond to fire emergencies in process plant. This course is contextualised and target for operators or technicians taking on the role of ERT in the high risk industries (CERT Tier 1) from Chemicals, Refineries, Specialities Chemicals and Oil & Gas. Suitable for Emergency Response Team members, Operational staff working on site and all personnel who may have direct or indirect involvement in managing an emergency/crisis
